Beyond the Algorithm: Why Human Skills Are the Answer to an AI-Shaped World

Event Description

As AI reshapes how information is accessed, decisions are made, and solutions are developed, technical skills are no longer enough. Young people also need the ability to think critically, identify opportunities, collaborate across differences, and act with purpose. These are precisely the capabilities that entrepreneurship education develops, and they are the foundation of human capability, economic resilience, and sustainable development. This session brings together NFTE, WSI Alumni, Aflatoun, and Pearson Career Ready to examine what needs to shift in education to make that kind of learning the norm, not the exception.

Using a fishbowl format where anyone in the room can pull up a seat, the conversation belongs as much to participants as to panelists. NFTE’s World Series of Innovation serves as a live proof of concept: a model where students don’t just learn about the world but are challenged to solve real problems within it, developing the mindset and skills that translate into economic opportunity and civic agency. Grounded in growing evidence that entrepreneurship education supports the social-emotional development of young people, the session connects that model to a broader path to scale and asks how educators, the private sector, and global partners can accelerate the shift together. The SDGs serve as a through-line, connecting student-level outcomes to global goals on quality education, decent work, and reduced inequalities.
