Event Description

We are navigating a decade of existential challenges - from a deathly global pandemic to environmental catastrophes, war to degrading democracies, to new technologies that will change the world of work as we know it – revealing the need for a reset, one that we believe must start in our classrooms. What can we do to ensure our young people grow up as compassionate young people with the agency, awareness, wellbeing, and critical thinking skills to collaborate across lines of difference to address our challenges and shape a better future?

Education is the engine that can equip young people with the agency, awareness, creativity and critical thinking necessary to navigate and solve these complex, interconnected challenges. And at the same time, our collective efforts remain fragmented. This is a space to come together to consider how to shift the purpose, practice, and culture of education systems in order to put the world on a different trajectory.

Purpose, People and Philanthropy: Education House @ Skoll 2026 Learning Arc

To investigate the theme, we will host a learning arc throughout the afternoon that look at Purpose, People and Philanthropy in education and the collaborations required:

Purpose - How can we accelerate widespread shifts in the purpose of education towards a new paradigm?

People- How are we building the collective leadership required for systems change across all levels of our systems?

Philanthropy - How can funders catalyse collective action and long-term systems change to advance a new paradigm for education?
