Future-Ready Systems Include Every Learner

22 Sep 2026, 08:00 - 09:00 (EDT)
Geneva, Education House, Floor 14
UNGA 81

Education is the foundation of human capability and opportunity, yet millions of children with disabilities remain excluded from the systems designed to prepare them for the future. As governments invest in future-ready education systems, disability inclusion must be embedded from the outset - by design and by investment. This session explores how to make that a reality.

Event Description

The session will bring together leaders from government, philanthropy, international organizations, and schools to explore what it takes to build future-ready education systems that include children with disabilities from the outset.

Designed as an inclusive learning environment, the room itself will reinforce the session's message while providing the setting for a conversation on practical examples from Sierra Leone, Brazil, Mexico, and beyond. Speakers will share how governments and their partners are strengthening teacher support, school leadership, sustainable financing, and cross-sector collaboration to embed disability inclusion within public education systems at scale.

The conversation will focus on the practical actions needed to move from commitment to implementation, highlighting how governments, funders, and implementing partners can work together to build, finance, and sustain education systems where every learner develops the knowledge, skills, confidence, and opportunities to participate fully in society.

Featured speakers include:

- Hon. Conrad Sackey, Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Sierra Leone
