Event Description
In 2024, at least 242 million students across 85 countries had their schooling disrupted by extreme climate events – yet education is still financed reactively, through late humanitarian appeals. How can continuity of learning become the norm?
Participants will work through an interactive scenario, mapping how risk financing (anticipatory grants, pre-arranged funds, sovereign insurance) can underpin community-led responses, grounded in the Education Risk Financing Pact. A representative of a displaced community who has lived through repeated disruption will anchor the discussion.
