Article • 28 May 2026
UNGA 81

Education House UNGA 81 will take place on September 22 at 25 Broadway, New York City. Education House will bring together stakeholders to consider how education is the foundation of human capability, economic resilience, and sustainable development, and ask what needs to shift to ensure every child is enabled to thrive.

Overview

Education House UNGA 81 will take place on September 22 at 25 Broadway, New York City. Over one day, Education House will host around 15 sessions, programmed by collaborations by civil society, intergovernmental and private sector stakeholders. Education House invites you to consider how your organisation can contribute through this Call for Proposals.

What is Education House?

Education House is a collaborative hub advancing sustainable development through education. It brings together diverse actors across sectors to consider education as a core driver of progress on climate, health, economic resilience, and social cohesion.

Founded in 2025 by HundrED, Salzburg Global, and Teach For All, Education House was created in response to a clear gap: there was no consistent cross-sector space to connect efforts, learn together, and strengthen the role of education within the broader sustainable development agenda.

Education House creates the conditions for collaboration, shared learning, and coordinated action across sectors and geographies. It aims to:

  • Position education within major sustainable development conversations and decision-making spaces.

  • Connect education to wider discussions on climate, health, technology, and economic transformation.

  • Surface and spread education innovations emerging from research, practice, and communities globally.

EH UNGA 81 - Education for Sustainable Development

As the global community begins to debate the post-2030 sustainable development agenda, Education House @ UNGA 81 will be a space for organizations and participants to reflect on progress in education’s contribution to sustainable development and what needs to shift to ensure every child is enabled to thrive.

  • What needs to shift in education to embrace the purpose of developing students holistically to meet the interconnected challenges of our time, and how do we accelerate these shifts?

  • What needs to shift for education to be treated as a core strategic priority across all sectors and as the foundation of human capability, economic resilience, and sustainable development, and how do we get there?
